Community gathers for Christmas dinner with BMLSS

Friends, family, Lakers staff and students, neighbours, and other people from our community gathered together to enjoy a traditional Christmas meal well prepared by Mr. Underwood’s Hospitality and Tourism class.

BML held the annual community dinner on Dec. 20 in the cafeteria. When the doors opened at 5 p.m., Mr Willett welcomed the public as they found their seats.

Laker volunteers, staff volunteers and even future Laker Wyatt Fielding roamed about the cafeteria to clean up empty dishes and serve our guests.

There was a kids’ table where the youngsters had several holiday themed coloring sheets to choose from to colour with new friends they made. Some of the little ones played with Drama teacher Ms Imrie on the stage in the cafeteria.

In the foyer, Kelsey Marsh performed and tables were set up displaying items to purchase. All donations made at the community dinner went to the Salvation Army.

All in all the dinner was a hit! We can't wait to see what Mr. Underwood's class has in store for next year!
