Winter formal 2016 was definitely one to remember. LLC did a remarkable job of decorating, which created a great atmosphere.
Jacob Schnurr, a guest of a BMLSS student, expressed his first impression of the night. “I think everybody’s dressed so nice. Everything’s so elegant, and I just can’t wait to get on with the night and see where it takes us.”
Everyone enjoyed the dishes prepared by the hospitality class; there was variety, and most students went back for seconds. The desserts were the highlight of the meal, including fresh fruit, brownies and apple crumble.
“The food was delicious, and the fire adds an authentic effect, and I’m excited for the dancing,” commented Maya Macdonald, a Grade 12 student.
The dance part of the evening was a hit with the dance floor full of students belting out the lyrics to their favourite songs and pulling out their craziest moves. Grade 11 student Issie Nicholson described the dance as “rockin’.”
After hours of good times, the formal guests went home, stomachs full of good food, feet sore from dancing, and heads full of a night of lasting memories.
“It really captured the BMLSS spirit,” remarked another student in Grade 12, Hannah Scholl.
This year’s Winter Formal tickets sold out in just two weeks to over 250 students.
